FAQ
Q: My game/server/faction/class is not listed.
A: We are adding games as quickly as we can. Please request your game to be added by selecting “Game not listed” at the bottom of the game selection menu and we will get to it as quickly as possible.
Q: How do I join a Guild?
A: Before you can join a guild, you need to add a character that can join the guild. Once you have a character adding to your account in the same game/server as the guild you want to join, you will see an “Apply” button on the guild page. Click the apply button and fill out the information. The Guild Master will then be in charge of approving your application.
Q: How do I start a Guild?
A: Before you start a guild, you need to add a character that can be the Guild Leader. All guilds are tied to specific games, so you need to make sure you have a character added to your account before you can start a guild. Once you start the guild, you are the Guild Leader.
Q: How can I invite people to my Guild?
A: You will see an invite button after you create your guild; however you can ONLY invite people you are currently friends with on the site. This is to stop a guild from spamming 100’s of members in an attempt to recruit. However, you are free to post a message looking for members.
Q: How do I send someone a direct message?
A: You can only send direct messages to people you are friends with on the site. This is to stop someone from being able to spam our userbase. You are always free to @ mention someone in a post to get their attention.
Q: How can I add friends or follow people?
A: To add friends you go to the person’s profile by clicking or tapping on their name. You should then see a friend and follow button. You can choose to either add them as a friend or just follow them to see their posts in your feed.
Q: Why do some people not have friend buttons?
A: We have some verified pro gamers on the site and to keep their spam count low, we set up special accounts for them so that you can only follow them, this way they are not deluged with friend requests that they will never have time to answer.
Q: How do I shut off e-mail notifications?
A: If you click on the pencil icon in the upper left of your profile screen, you will see tabs in the middle of the screen. Click on the one that says notifications and you can turn on and off all e-mail notifications.
Q: Can I change my ZergID name?
A: Absolutely. If you want to change your ZergID name, please send an e-mail to [email protected] from the e-mail you used to sign up, with your old username and the new one you want. (You also might to check ahead of time to make sure the name you want isn’t already taken).
Q: How does the event system work?
A: Events can be created by Guild officers, for their guild. You can also create an event and invite your friends. You can also create public events and allow anyone on the site to join or apply. Once you click on create event, you choose the character creating the event (that way we know which game, faction, server the event is set in), give the event a name, set the date and type, select who to invite and then choose the type of event :
NO RSVPs NECESSARY : |
This is a generic event, where you don’t need to know who is showing up or what roles they will play in the event. |
ALL RSVP’S ACCEPTED : |
This is a generic event, but one where you want to get an idea of who is showing up, so you ask them to RSVP. They will receive an in system message asking them to RSVP to the event. You can then visit the event page at any time to see who is coming. |
RSVPs APPROVED ONLY : |
This is the choice to make when you are assembling a raid or group that needs a specific make up. |
Q: How does the RSVP Approval system work?
A: Users will receive an in system message asking them to RSVP. Once they click on it, they are asked to choose their potential roles in the event. They can choose one or more of the roles (Tank/Healer/DPS)
Once people have RSVPd, the event leader can set up the team. The potential roles people have selected will be shown to the event creator
The boxes with the check marks let the event creator know what roles the person would be able to play in the event.
The event leader then selects one of the roles that the user has chosen and approves them for the event in that role.
The event leader can also select people to be an Alternate or once the event is filled up, let people know there will not be room by selecting Deny.
Once someone is Approved to an event, the event will show up on their ZergID calendar.
Q: What if too many people apply to be a part of my public event?
A: You can choose the “random” feature randomly select applicants for whatever roles you want to fill.
Q: How do I select Top Characters and Top Guilds?
A: You can choose up to 3 of your Characters and/or Guilds to appear on your profile page. You can select which of your Characters and/or Guilds will appear here by clicking the star next to your Characters/Guilds on your Character/Guild page.
Q: When I created my character or RSVPd to an event the only roles I could choose were Tank/Healer/DPS/Hybrid, but my game doesn’t have these roles, what gives?
A: While, tank/healer/DPS, the holy trinity of MMO’s for many years, we understand that many games are breaking the meta and other games have entirely different role structures. For character creation we added the “Hybrid” role to help round out “Support” characters that perform multiple roles. We are working on customizing character/event creation for each game, but we needed to start somewhere and felt that tank/healer/DPS captured the concept in the largest number of games.
Q: How can I delete or de-activate my account.
A: Both are done the same way, but have different results. To delete or deactivate an account you must send an e-mail to [email protected] FROM THE E-MAIL YOU USED TO SIGN UP and let us know whether you would like to delete or deactivate your account.
Deleting an account means it will be COMPLETELY erased from the system. All posts, characters entered, comments made will be deleted permanently from the system and your username will be free for other people to take
Deactivating, leaves your posts, characters and username in place, but puts your account in stasis. You won’t be able to logon and people won’t be able to send you messages, etc, BUT your characters will remain entered and your username will be saved if you choose to reactivate in the future.
